What is expiration?

The MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms use a mechanism that corrects pips at the time of delivery of the corresponding underlying instrument. This mechanism is a technical adjustment of the instrument’s price at a special pip rate. It’s used to clear the price of the underlying instrument from all non-market factors associated with a change in its delivery date. At the same time, open positions remain intact. The pips adjustment during expiration, as well as the calculation of dividends, is recorded in the Swap column. Up-to-date information about the pips is published on the Company’s website in the “For clients” — “Rollovers” section after the end of the trading session of an asset.
